GRATUITY

Our crew starts preparing for your trip long before you arrive. They want you to be successful and very happy. Tips are a significant part of any captain and mate’s income. The fishing industry standards follow the same guidelines as most service professions – 25% for great service, 30% or more of the total cost of the trip if they exceeded your expectations for the trip. Tips can be given together to the captain or divided with the mate as you see fit. Cash is always preferred, but can be included on the credit card. Remember, these guys work hard to make memories for you.

We guarantee SATISFACTION, you bring the luck! Our crew fish hard for our customers daily which gives us the knowledge of the best hot spots and fishing conditions. The Sea Candy crew does catch fish of some species each day, although it may not be the targeted fish we are after. A lot of factors determine if the fish are biting, and on the occasional day it just doesn’t happen no matter what we do. Circumstances depend on the weather, moon, tides and if they might happen to not want to eat. We will work hard for you to have a successful, memorable trip. If you happen to experience one of these slower days, we will gladly extend a major discount on your next trip.

We guarantee excellent service, an entertaining crew, top notch equipment, an honest weather and boating report. You the customer have the right to decide whether or not to proceed. In some cases, the Captain will cancel the trip because of bad weather or just poor fishing. In either event, the customer will be given an opportunity to reschedule. If we cannot reschedule, your entire deposit will be refunded!

OUR RESERVATION POLICY

• We require a $100 credit card deposit at time of booking for each day you want to fish.
• Bahama Trips require a 50% deposit when booked and the trip must be paid in full 14 days prior to the trip
Credit card fees may apply for Bahama trips
• We accept all major credit cards
• We ask for a 72 hour notice of cancellation of your trip and your deposit will be returned or applied to a future trip.
• Please contact us 2-4 days prior to your trip to determine weather conditions. In the event of an unforeseen weather cancellation or mechanical breakdown which prevents us from fishing on that day, WE WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO RESCHEDULE YOUR TRIP
• • When you make your reservation to charter the Sea Candy, we require a deposit per day for each day that you have reserved the boat. This deposit reserves the boat, crew, fuel, and tackle for the entire period of your charter.
Not to mention with gas cost raising the deposit will secure and guarantee your charter day and Price to be locked in until the charter date arrives. Refunds will be given upon 72 hours notice prior to the charter date.

Cancellation Policy

Deposits are fully refundable if the captain cancels due to wind, high seas or stormy weather and the decision to cancel is made the night before your fishing trip or while standing on the dock and we are unable to reschedule. We want you to have a memorable, fun time and if the weather appears to be unsafe or too rough we will try to reschedule your trip. If we cancel due to weather and are not able to reschedule due to continued bad weather, your travel schedule or our previous bookings then your money will be refunded in full either on your credit card or by check from our office mailed within 5 business days.

Trips that are canceled by you, 30 days or more prior to the trip date will be refunded in full, less a 10% credit card/booking fee. If your trip is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the trip date, we will be happy to work with you to try and reschedule the trip and move your deposit to a new date. If we are unable to find a mutual date or you cancel the trip completely then your deposit is NOT refundable. Trips canceled less than 7 days prior to your trip date are NOT refundable and NOT transferrable to a later date unless we are able to rebook your cancelled date.

• Gift Certificates expire after 1 year of purchase, however we will honor your request to extend.

What should I bring

We recommend that all visitors bring the following items with them:
• Sunscreen – we ask that you do not bring the spray, It causes the deck to become slick and dangerous
• Non-slip shoes with a white sole or non-marking sole
• Hat
• Sunglasses
• A Camera for the catch of a lifetime
• Your choice of food, snacks or drinks. We supply bottled Water and Ice
• OH YES – bring your credit card or cash!

If you are coming from out of town, our crew will filet bag and arrange for packing and shipping to send your catch home for an additional charge.

If you don’t wish to take home your catch, there are several restaurants in Jupiter and Tequesta, close to the marina that will gladly prepare your fish in a number of ways and serve it up with side dishes.
